Spaceship Mechanic · Book 4
Flying Saucers and Chrome Plate
There are some things you don’t expect to find in deep space. A 1947 Wisconsin license plate is one of them.
Back on Patience Station, Rix Banner’s life is finally becoming almost respectable. His mechanic shop is busy, his friends are building new lives, and he might even pay the bills.
Then a battered license plate arrives in a crate from halfway across the galaxy.
It’s from Wisconsin.
Rix’s Wisconsin.
Worse, it carries traces of Fantastium, the priceless material that makes interstellar travel possible. Earth is quarantined, technologically primitive, and nobody should be mining it there.
Apparently, somebody forgot to tell the aliens.
Soon Rix, Kel, Amari, and one enthusiastic stowaway are headed to northern Wisconsin. Their search uncovers illegal mining, suspicious lights, questionable bureaucracy, and a scheme to steal something humanity doesn’t know it has.
Stopping it would be easier if Rix could solve the problem with a wrench.
Flying Saucers and Chrome Plate is humorous science fiction packed with battered spaceships, alien troublemakers, small-town Wisconsin, and unlikely friendships.
